About Us

David Wittenberg, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist. He serves as the official liaison between BHS of Maui and partner non-profits and public agencies. Dr. Wittenberg co supervises the Maui County Crisis Mobile Outreach programs for children and adults, Intensive In-Home services for troubled youth, a Community-Based Case Management program serving over 500 consumers,  and The Maui Counseling Group.

 


Robert Lanser, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in the management of crisis management, mental health, and co-occurring disorders programming. Bob currently co-supervises the Maui County Crisis Mobile Outreach programs for children and adults, Intensive In-Home services for troubled youth, a Community-Based Case Management program serving over 500 consumers,  and The Maui Counseling Group. Bob also helps to arrange equitable capitation and contracting details as part of our service provision.


Dr. Heather WittenbergHeather Wittenberg, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist. She writes most of BHS of Maui’s grant and contract proposals. She is an Early Childhood and parenting specialist, with experience treating, evaluating, or supervising the treatment of thousands of cases in Maui County since 1997. “Dr. Heather” is also a nationally-known child development and parenting expert who has been quoted in national media including Newsweek/The Daily BeastParents.com, and American Baby Magazine. She is a regular parenting contributor on the KITV Morning News Show and on KFI-AM 640 in Los Angeles. She is also an official spokesperson for Huggies/Pull-Ups diapers.  Dr. Heather grew up in Hawaii and has four young children with her husband, Dr. David Wittenberg.


 Regina GriffithsRegina Griffiths, LCSW has been BHS’s Quality Assurance and Training manager since 2001. She organizes and tracks data, recommends and writes policies and procedures,  reviews and submits reports and audit materials, and creates and monitors corrective actions and plans of improvement. She also develops and delivers clinical and administrative orientations and trainings. Gina’s clinical expertise as a licensed social worker helps her create meaningful Quality Improvement programs that result in better outcomes.


marlene01Marlene Nagata joined Behavioral Health Services of Maui, LLC in 2014, bringing with her extensive 14 years’ experience in customer service, administration, and program management in mental health and social services specific to case management and crisis services of severely mentally ill patients.  Duties include maintaining a safe and orderly environment for the office staff as well as supports management, sub-contractors, and employees with normal day-to-day operation of the administrative office.  She is excellent with verbal, written, and listening skills and possesses excellent communication skills, combined with a strong awareness of standard business practices and community relations.


amcdonnellAudra McDonnell earned a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University in 2006. She has experience working with adults, adolescents, children, and families. She uses a collaborative approach to therapy, working together with her clients to help empower, strengthen, and enhance their lives.


 

Together, Heather, Bob, and David have overseen the development, management, and evaluation of quality behavioral health programs in Maui County for thousands of clients and families since 1997.
